Firstly a little bit about what Oxygen Builder is:
Oxygen Builder is a site builder for WordPress. It is not necessarily a page builder like Elementor, Thrive Architect, Divi or Beaver Builder. Its in a totally different class. Its at the same time not a theme. I have used all of those builders in the past and I have settled on Oxygen Builder as my go to builder of choice.
In essence it is a site builder. Oxygen disables the theme for WordPress. Any theme that you have enabled in your WordPress Installation will be disabled by the Oxygen Builder. This allows you to design your theme using the visual builder. Drag and drop type builder.
1. Cleaner code output and less bloat
The main reason why I have moved from other website page builders to Oxygen is due to the code that Oxygen generates. It generates much cleaner code than Elementor, Beaver Builder and Divi. Oxygen Builder was built with developers and designers in mind, and to make pixel perfect design without the bloat and the divception that comes with the other page builders in mind. Page speed is extremely important in SEO today and the quality and the leanness of the code assists in making your website pages load quicker.
2. Visual Builder Clean with Advanced options
The builder UI (user interface) is a lot cleaner and less cluttered than other page builders. They may have less elements, but the main elements that you need for your design are all there. More elements will be added in the next couple of months. In 2.2 they introduced a search option in the UI which makes it really easy to search for the elements that you need to add. You can also hide the structure on the right, so you can see more of the page that you are editing. The structure panel is also a great way to move elements and sections up and down the page with ease.
Flexbox is fantastic. It allows you to position any element with precision. No more of those uneven block heights. No more battling with margins to line elements up. This allows you to get everything in a row or a column to line up correctly. The UI element of flex box assists for those that aren’t too familiar with how flex box works and allows you to harness the power. The way that Oxygen has implemented flex box should be standard in all page builders.
4. Works well with Advanced Custom Fields and Toolset
One of my favorite plugins is advanced custom fields (ACF). Allowing you to add advanced custom fields to your pages and content types. ACF fits like a glove when it comes to integrating with the Oxygen Builder. So when you are adding an element you can click on the custom field and add it in. No fussing around with extra code.
Toolset works exactly the same way which allows you to add your custom fields to your content type pages.
What would be nice to see with Toolset is for them to have a integration which will allow us to be able to layout the Views with the Oxygen Builder. Hopefully that will integrated soon in the future.
5. Add HTML, PHP, JS and CSS to every element.
